Starting point
Flat’s property catalog had millions of URLs, with structural and navigation issues limiting the visibility of commercial pages.
What we did
We improved internal linking, UX and key search pages, then moved selected sections to Webflow through a reverse proxy.
Results
The historical case reports 1,660% more non-brand catalog traffic, 829% more impressions on lead-generating pages and 25+ Webflow pages.
A large catalog needs a clear path through it
Flat’s marketplace had millions of URLs. At that scale, having a page for a property or search need is only part of the job. The structure and navigation determine whether people and search engines can reach the pages that generate inquiries.
Embedded in Flat’s team, we began with an SEO audit to identify where that structure was limiting visibility. The focus was on the marketplace’s commercial pages, not simply on publishing more content.
Connect the pages that matter
We redesigned internal linking, improved the user experience and created key pages to compete for relevant property searches. These changes addressed how the catalog was organized and how visitors moved through it.
The objective was to bring more people into Flat through searches for properties and services, including people who did not yet know the brand. Non-brand discovery was therefore an important measure of the work.
Give marketing its own publishing capacity
The marketplace also had a development constraint: marketing and growth work needed attention from the same team building the core product.
We moved several website sections to Webflow through a reverse proxy, preserving Flat’s look and feel. More than 25 unique pages were built in Webflow. Marketing could work on those sections while Flat’s developers focused on the proposition for real-estate agents and homebuyers.
More visibility for the property business
The published case reports 1,660% more non-brand organic traffic to the property catalog and 829% more impressions on lead-generating pages. It also records 700 keywords in the number-one position. These are historical reported results; the source does not give dates and baselines for those individual measures.
The change combined search visibility with publishing capacity: a clearer route into the catalog, and a way for the marketing team to keep improving the surrounding website. This engagement took place under the Flat brand, which later became Clau.
